Dr. Jose Benito Abraham Urology and Transplant Clinic, which offers transplantation of pancreatic allograph, anastomosis, excision of presacral or sacrococcygeal tumour, and treatment of various urologic diseases, was founded by Dr. Jose Benito Abraham. Dr. Abraham is the first and only Filipino urologist who has been fellowship-trained in two surgical specialties: minimally invasive urological surgery and organ transplantation in the United States under world-renowned urologist, Dr. Ralph V. Clayman, who is considered as the father of laparoscopic urology.
Because of his intensive training, Dr. Abraham is highly skilled in all the facets of urological surgery including percutaneous renal access and endoscopic surgery of stones, strictures and cancer of the upper urinary tract, retrograde endoscopy including rigid and flexible cystoscopy, ureteroscopy and nephroscopy. These types of procedures are as effective as open surgeries but are safer, less invasive, and thus, require minimal downtime and short recovery time.
Dr. Abraham, who is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, is also highly competent in video-assisted urologic surgery such as laparoscopic, retroperitoneoscopic and robotic-assisted urologic surgery, and single port access surgery (LESS) especially laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. He is also an expert in the pre-operative evaluation and preparation of end-stage kidney disease patients for renal transplantation, living or deceased donor recovery procedures, renal and pancreas transplantation, immunosuppressive management of renal and pancreas transplant recipients, vascular access procedures and vascular reconstruction.

Dr. Joben Abraham is a urologist with subspecialty training in minimally invasive urological surgery. He is a certified kidney transplant surgeon by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and is trained in pancreas transplantation.

He received his training in the United States under Dr. Ralph V. Clayman, a world-renowned urologist recognised as the father of modern-day laparoscopic urology. Dr. Abraham assisted Dr. Clayman in the pioneering research work in minimally invasive urology, which included the world’s first transvaginal NOTES nephrectomy and first robotic NOTES nephrectomy. His training helped him develop his skills in percutaneous renal access, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic-assisted urological surgery using the Da Vinci system.

Dr. Abraham has been recognised for his landmark papers, many of which have been published in the Journal of Urology, Journal of Endourology, and Journal of Robotic Surgery. He is the only Filipino peer-reviewer of the Journal of Endourology and Journal of Urology.
