Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic procedure that involves examining the lining of the uterus using a narrow diameter instrument called a hysteroscope, which is equipped with a video camera and light source that allows the doctor to view the uterus and surrounding area on a video screen. Because the instrument is inserted through the cervical opening, the procedure does not require any abdominal incisions. A hysteroscopy is normally performed to diagnose abnormalities by examining the endometrial cavity and tubal ostia closely. It is also used to diagnose conditions such as heavy bleeding, sub-fertility, and suspicions of malignancy. A hysteroscopy is performed as a day-case. Patients will be given a light sedative to help them relax during the procedure.

Pelvic and Breast Ultrasound
Pelvic and breast ultrasounds are non-invasive diagnostic procedures that involve digitally mapping the interior of the pelvis and breasts to check for tumour growth and other abnormalities. Ultrasound machines are devices that emit ultrasonic frequency to produce vibrations or echoes. A computer will then record and map the echoes on a computer screen, thus producing a live image. The doctor will review and analyze the image carefully to find any abnormalities. Pelvic and breast ultrasounds take only a short time to complete. The patient will not experience any downtime and can, therefore, return to normal activities immediately after the procedure.
