The clinic was founded by Dr. Anand Parthasarathy and Dr. Lipika Roy who received intensive training in the latest techniques in eye surgeries at some of the best hospitals in Singapore, Germany, and the USA. Dr. Anand Parthasarathy is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon with over 15 years of experience. He is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the Cataract, Cornea, and Refractive Surgery, the Singapore National Eye Centre, and the University of Erlangen, Germany. Dr. Lipika Roy, on the other hand, has extensive international experience in Ophthalmology and trained under Professor Kenneth Wright at Mount Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles, USA, Professor Boergen at the University of Munich, Germany, and Dr. Yvonne Ling at the Singapore National Eye centre. To date, she has over 13 years of experience.
Dr. Lipika Roy, the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Consultant of Laser Eye Surgery and Children’s Eye Disease at the Centre for Vision and Eye Surgery in Chennai, India, holds MBBS and MS (Ophthalmology) degrees and is a Fellow of National Board (India). She also completed her MBA at the University of Chicago, USA. She has a clinical practice in ophthalmology, focusing on disorders of vision in adults and trained at Aravind Eye Hospitals in Mudarai in squint and children’s eye diseases. Her training, years of experience, and expertise has empowered her to offer comprehensive eye care services to both children and adults. She also trained at some of the best institutions abroad including Mount Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles, USA (under Professor Kenneth Wright), University of Munich, Germany (under Professor Boergen), and Singapore National Eye Centre (under Dr. Yvonne Ling). Prior to setting up her private practice, she was a Consultant at various eye care companies including Bausch, Novartis, and Lomb and Ivantis. She is a Member of Fellow Wright Foundation (Los Angeles, USA), and a Fellow of Singapore National Eye Centre, University of Munich (Germany), and Aravind Eye Hospital (Mudarai).
Dr. Anand Parthasarathy graduated with an MBBS degree from the Armed Forces Medical College in India and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital at Post Graduate Institute of Ophthalmology in Madurai. He is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeon (Edinburgh) and a Diplomate of the National Board (Ophthalmology) India, 2003. He is also a Fellow of the Cataract, Cornea, and Refractive Surgery, the Singapore National Eye Centre, and the University of Erlangen (Germany). He boasts advanced surgical skills and over 15 years of experience. He is highly experienced in performing various ophthalmic procedures and has conducted trials on allergic conjunctivitis and dry eye. Dr. Parthasarathy is an award-winning ophthalmologist. His awards and grants include the following: * Winner, ET Selvam Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association- Post Graduate Quiz 2001 * Winner, “Best Poster Award” at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (2007) * Recipient, CP Gupta Award from the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmological Association (2008) Dr. Parthasarathy is an Opinion Leader at various US-based companies including Allergan Inc., Advanced Medical Optics, and Staar Surgical Company. Driven to make a change, he developed the primary and tertiary eye care cross VECH for complicated cornea and anterior segment diseases. He also developed the eye bank network across the VECH hospital group to optimize the utilization of donor corneas. In addition, he designed custom made instruments for DSEK in developing countries that are performing clinical trials on Avastin in high-risk keratoplasty. Considered an authority in his field, he has published and co-authored 15 peer-reviewed research papers. He is also often asked to present his findings in symposia and subspecialty meetings.
