Patients who are diagnosed with diabetes commonly have problems with their feet. This is because normal oil production and normal sweat secretion in the area is impaired. This leads to very dry skin, loss of sensation, foot ulcers, persistent calluses, muscle weakness, change in foot shape, wounds that don’t heal, or even infection. The treatment of this condition involves the management of diabetes and the symptoms. If the patient is complaining about a wound, for example, keeping the sugar level at the normal level is combined with treatment of the wound. Typically, this involves cleaning and debriding the affected area to ensure that the wound will heal. Dr. Moses is highly experienced in the management and treatment of this condition, and he offers his services to both local and international patients.

PRP Injections or Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is an innovative method used to treat joint pain. The procedure involves harvesting the patient’s own blood where platelet concentration will be acquired. This is re-injected into the problem joints. Platelet activation will speed up the process of soft tissue and wound healing. This procedure can also be used to treat injured tendons, muscles, and ligaments. PRP therapy doesn’t come with side effects. After the procedure, the patient will be required to rest followed by strengthening and stretching program.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is a painful condition that affects the hand and the wrist, is characterized by weakness, tingling, and numbness of the median nerve. It is caused by repetitive trauma and constant pressure to the area. Dr. Moses Orthopedic Clinic specializes in the treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Depending on the severity of the condition, available treatments include physical therapy and the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. If physical therapy combined with medications has not worked, surgery will be recommended. The surgery, which is called carpal tunnel release, involves cutting through the ligament found in the carpal tunnel to provide more room for the tendons and median nerve. This improves function and gets rid of the pain.
