Dr. Peter Paul Wong Yat Cheong is an Orthopedic Specialist, Trauma Expert and Sports Arthroscopic Consultant Surgeon practicing at the Orthopaedic Department of Hospital Pantai Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. He specializes in sports related injuries that affect the shoulders and knees as well as in treating and managing fractures, degenerative diseases, and other bone related problems using the latest devices, minimally invasive techniques, and state-of-the-art technologies.
Dr. Peter Paul Wong Yat Cheong graduated from Mangalore University in India where he obtained his MBBS degree in 1997. He then pursued higher learning and completed his Masters in Orthopaedics Surgery (MsOrtho) from the University of Malaya in Malaysia. This was followed by a Malaysia Ministry Health Program-sponsored training course in sports arthroscopic reconstruction and an international sports fellowship in Korea where he trained under Professor Yong Girl Rhee (the President of the Korean Arthroscopy Society), Professor Kim Jin Goo (the Head of the Department of Sports Medicine Centre in Seoul and Secretary General of the Korean Arthroscopy Society), Professor Park Jin Yeong (Korean Olympic Doctor for shoulder and elbow injuries), and Kim Seung Ho, HOD of the Samsung Medical Centre sports department. Dr. Wong also completed local fellowship training programmes under some of the respected sports surgeons in Malaysia including Mr. Khoo Shaw Woei and Brigadier General Dato’ Dr. Amiruddin Hamdan, the Head of the Department of Orthopaedic and Sports Unit, HAT Tuanku Mizan. Dr. Wong combines his extensive training and 15 years of experience in providing patients with the highest standards of medical and surgical care to effectively treat and manage all diseases and conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system.
