Dr. Sandip Kumar's General & Colorectal Surgery Clinic at Gleneagles Medini Hospital specialises in providing surgical care for a range of general and colorectal conditions using open and laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery.
Dr. Kumar completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester (United Kingdom) and Masters of Surgery at the University of Malaya. He also pursued his Diploma in Laparoscopy for General Surgery and Advanced Colorectal Surgery at the University of Strasbourg in France. He specialises in all aspects of colorectal surgery, pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening, and anorectal disorders. He is also trained in major general surgical procedures for the treatment of hernias and other conditions affecting the gallbladder, stomach, thyroid, and breasts. Dr. Kumar, who has over 16 years of experience, is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellow of the International College of Surgeons.

He was also a faculty member at Seberang Jaya Hospital and Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah as well as an instructor of advanced trauma life support (2012) and care of critically ill surgical patients (2013). Committed to continuing professional advancement, Dr. Kumar regularly attends relevant postgraduate courses both in Malaysia and abroad including Taiwan, Singapore, and Spain, among others. He is a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (General and Colorectal Surgery) and member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI), European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP), Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).
