<p>Dr. Tan Chi Chiu is a highly trained gastroenterology, internal medicine, and hepatology specialist with more than 22 years of experience. His career in medicine started following his graduation from the National University of Singapore where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. Driven to further his knowledge, he pursued specialist training in internal medicine and obtained his membership with the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) and his Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine. </p> <p>In 1993, he became a recognized gastroenterology specialist by the Ministry of Health (Singapore) and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and London. He also completed his advanced specialist training in therapeutic and laser endoscopy in the United Kingdom as well as his training in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in Amsterdam. </p> <p>Prior to establishing Gastroenterology and Medicine International, Dr. Tan served at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a gastroenterology and internal medicine consultant for the hospital’s general medicine department. During his time at the hospital, he founded and eventually headed its gastroenterology unit and became the chairman of its endoscopy committee. </p> <p>Dr. Tan is known to take his time during consultations. He believes in giving each patient as much time as needed so their medical conditions are properly assessed. He also takes the time to explain tests and treatments and in comprehensively addressing all concerns. Through this, he empowers patients to make crucial decisions to achieve their overall well-being.</p>
