Dr. Lim Ing Ruen is a senior consultant ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgeon currently practicing at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, a private hospital in Singapore accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) and certified by the International Standards Organisation (ISO). Dr. Lim has over 20 years of experience specialising in the medical and surgical treatment of all known ENT conditions that affect both children and adults. She graduated from the National University of Singapore where she completed her MBBS degree and her six-year specialist training in otolaryngology. She then furthered her knowledge and completed her fellowship in otolaryngology at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (2000) and her Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP)-sponsored fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, USA (2003), where she completed a one-year hands-on training on advanced endoscopic sinus surgical techniques. She is the first Singaporean ENT surgeon to undergo such training in the United States under Dr. David W. Kennedy, one of the pioneers of endoscopic sinus surgery. Dr. Lim is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS), Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow), and the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. She is also a member of the American Rhinologic Society and Singapore Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Prior to setting up her own clinic at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, she worked at Alexandra Hospital where she started an otorhinolaryngology and rhinology service. She was on the hospital’s operating room committee and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s planning committee.
