MACS clinic, which is certified by the International Standards Organisation (ISO), was conceptualised by Dr. Sandeep Nayak, one of the leading senior oncological surgeons in Bangalore, India. He is one of the pioneers of laparoscopic cancer treatment in Bangalore and is part of the robotic team at HCG Hospitals in India. He has been practising for over 17 years, is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK), and is highly experienced in open, laparoscopic, and robotic cancer surgeries.
Dr. Sandeep Nayak is a board-certified general and oncological surgeon who completed his medical degrees at Kasturba Medical College. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. In 2011, he completed a fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic surgical oncology in Pune, India. He also completed various training programs on operative laparoscopy, palliative care, and basic trauma life support. Dr. Nayak has in-depth experience in abdominal, gynaecological, thoracic, head and neck, breast, urogenital, and paediatric oncosurgeries as well as sarcoma surgeries, basic reconstruction procedures, and chemoport insertion. He is recognised as one of the pioneers of laparoscopic cancer treatment in Bangalore.
Dr. Anil Kumar completed his MBBS as well as his degree in radiation oncology from Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, India where he is a recognised Fellow in pain and palliative care. He is also a Diplomate of National Board (DNB Radiation Oncology). Prior to joining the MACS (minimal access cancer surgery) team, he served at the department of radiotherapy at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology and BGS Global Hospitals. He was also the consultant radiation oncologist at Apollo Hospital where he was credited for treating the maximum number of patients through radiotherapy in 2015. Dr. Kumar is a member of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI).
Dr. Suresh Babu is a highly experienced medical oncologist currently practicing at MACS Clinic. He graduated with an MBBS degree from Bangalore University. He then completed his postgraduate degrees in internal medicine (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences) and medical oncology (Dr. MGR Medical University). Prior to joining the MACS team, Dr. Babu served as an assistant professor at BGS Global Hospital in Bangalore and as registrar and later on, resident oncologist at Cancer Institute Adyar in Chennai. Dr. Babu is also a noted teacher and well-known academician. To date, he has more than 45 national and international publications to his credit. He has also trained several postgraduate students throughout his career.
