Mira Healthcare specialises in the medical and surgical treatments of conditions that affect the breasts and gastrointestinal tract including breast cancer, gallstones, fistula, haemorrhoids, and inflammatory bowel disease using either traditional open or laparoscopic surgery. It also offers general surgery and orthopaedic care.
The clinic’s chief surgeon is Dr. Vani Vijay. She is internationally-trained and has over 10 years of experience. She completed her MBBS degree as well as Masters in General Surgery from Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai, India. She also holds a Diploma in Laparoscopic General Surgery from the University of Strasbourg (France) and European Institute of Telesurgery.
Dr. Vijay, who is a licensed chief medical officer for the Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (Switzerland), is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (London), Association of Surgeons of India, Royal Society of Medicine (London), and the American College of Surgeons. She is also a member of the Indian Medical Council, Association of Women Surgeons, and Association of Breast Surgeons of India.
<p>Dr. Vani Vijay started her medical career at Sri Ramachandra University where she obtained her MBBS (2004) and Masters in General Surgery (2009). She then further developed her surgical skills in Europe where she completed her Diploma in Laparoscopic General Surgery at France’s University of Strasbourg and the European Institute of Telesurgery (2010). She has also attended various seminars and training programs both in India and abroad including Stockholm, Sweden and New York, USA. </p> <p>Dr. Vijay is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (London), Association of Surgeons of India, American College of Surgeons, and Royal Society of Public Health (London). She is also a proud member of the Association of Breast Surgeons of India (ABSI), Indian Medical Council, and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). </p> <p>Aside from her private practice, she also serves as private consultant surgeon for Billroth, Kauvery, Fortis Malar, and Apollo Hospitals.</p>
