The centre is headed by Dr. Arvind G. Kulkarni who has vast experience and received extensive training in spine surgery at KEM Hospital (Mumbai), Westmead Adult & Children’s Hospitals (Australia), St. George Hospital (Australia), and Toronto Western Hospital and Hospital for Sick Children (Canada).
He is one of the pioneers of minimally invasive spinal surgery and artificial disc replacement in India. As a recognised expert in his field, he is often invited to speak and present at various national and international spine conferences and workshops. He has also contributed to high-impact journals as well as written chapters in textbooks. For his enormous contributions to the field of clinical research, he was given the 2005 Best Publication Award by the Association of Spine Surgeons of India (ASSI). <p>Dr. Arvind G. Kulkarni graduated from Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital where he completed his Master of Orthopaedic Surgery degree. Kulkarni is one of the surgeons to pioneer minimally invasive spinal surgery by introducing micro-endoscopic techniques using the MetrX system in 2007 for the first time in India. He is also one of the first to perform artificial disc replacement in the country. </p> <p>Considered an expert in his field, he is often invited to speak at national and international conferences.
