Dr. Optimax Eye Specialist Centre Shah Alam

Malaysia
Overview

Optimax Eye Specialist Centre’s history started in 1995 when its first branch was established in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail with the main goal of redefining standards in innovative eye care in Malaysia. Investing heavily in advanced medical technologies and intensive training both in Asia and Europe, the clinic’s team has successfully brought the latest innovations and breakthrough treatments back to Malaysia to provide international standards of eye care to both local patients and medical travellers. Optimax is credited for pioneering laser vision correction in the country and for its continuous efforts to remain at the forefront of innovation and technology.

Optimax now has eight branches in Malaysia, including the one in Shah Alam, which is led by Dr. Zainura Zainal, a highly experienced ophthalmic surgeon specialising in cataract and refractive surgeries with subspecialty training in vitreoretinal conditions, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. She graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and earned her Masters in Ophthalmology in 2004. She has several years of experience in treating cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy as well as performing Femto-LASIK, advanced surface ablation (ASA), and the revolutionary ReLex SMILE.
