Provelus Hair Transplant Clinic was established in 1980, pioneering hair transplantation surgery in India. Boasting impressive success rates, the clinic attracts not just hundreds of local patients but also clients from various parts of the world such as United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Germany, United Kingdom, and the United States. Inspired by its huge client base, the clinic continuously invests heavily in procuring the latest technologies and equipment and only hires the best in the field of hair transplantation to maintain its commitment to excellence.
Over the last 35 years, the clinic has carried out more than 5,000 hair transplants. To accommodate more patients, the clinic now boasts spacious consulting rooms that are fully equipped with the latest surgical and sterilizing equipment to ensure the success of each procedure while providing patients with utmost comfort and safety.
The clinic’s success for the last 35 years has been greatly attributed to its team of highly experienced, well-trained hair transplant specialists; one of them, Dr. Sharad Mishra, was given the Best Hair Transplant Doctor in India Award at the 2014 Global Healthcare Excellence Awards. He was also the recipient of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeon of Delhi Award in 2013.

Dr. Sharad Mishra is one of the most respected plastic surgeons in India. His medical career started when he attended the Armed Forces Medical College at the University of Pune Health Science Centre in Maharashtra, where he received his first gold medal for academic excellence. Driven to further his knowledge and be recognized as one of the best in his field, he went on to train at major Delhi hospitals, such as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and the New Delhi and Safdarjung Hospital, under internship and residency programmes, during which he performed a complicated surgery repairing exstrophy of the bladder, a rare genetic condition that affects children. He also specialized in general surgery at the equally esteemed King George Medical College in Lucknow, and received board certification from the Medical Council of India shortly after.

Eventually, he developed a special interest in plastic, aesthetic, and maxillofacial surgery, prompting him to complete a specialty training in the field from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, a premier plastic surgery centre in Chandigarh, India. Part of his training was to research on the surgical techniques involved in treating hand injuries, cleft palates, and skin cancer, among other subjects. This honed his skills in research, leading to several of his papers published in various national and international journals of plastic surgery. His contributions to the industry have been recognized even by India’s health minister, and he was board-certified in plastic surgery in his very first year of practice.

Not long after, he gave special attention to hair transplant procedures, even undergoing a special training programme that took him to Singapore and the USA. Dr. Mishra came back to New Delhi and began a career specializing in hair transplants, at the same time teaching plastic surgery courses at the University of Delhi, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, and the PGIMER Delhi. It was around this point that he developed a new technique for stitch-less hair transplants, which led to his textbook on hair transplant surgery, making him the first Indian author on the subject.
