This dental procedure involves the use of a porcelain-infused-to-metal crown with less than 2% semi-precious alloy. This type of crown is considered stronger, cheaper, and more attractive than an all-porcelain crown. The patient is typically required to attend two dental visits for this procedure. During the first one, the dentist obtains an impression of the tooth and attaches a temporary crown. The dental technician then creates the metal covering and the porcelain veneer within a few days. On the second visit, the dentist applies local anesthesia on the gums and the tooth unless the patient has already gone through a root canal treatment. The existing tooth is then covered using the crown’s metal component before the porcelain veneer is attached to create a more polished look. The crown may be trimmed to make it look similar to the rest of the teeth.

Dental implants are a sophisticated way of permanently restoring lost tooth. This dental procedure involves the surgical placement of an artificial tooth root, usually made of titanium, into the jaw bone by a dental surgeon. An artificial tooth, which looks and feels like real teeth, is then affixed to the root to restore your teeth’s most natural appearance. Although implants are more expensive than other restorative methods, they offer a long-term, fixed solution for replacement of missing teeth. At Silom Dental Building, medical tourists in Thailand can enjoy state-of-the-art implant procedures performed by licensed and experienced dental surgeons.

Dental inlays and onlays are excellent options for restoring strength and structure in tooth that is too damaged to support a regular filling. Similar to a filling, an inlay is usually made of porcelain or composite resin. It is custom-fitted to a cavity in the tooth and sealed into place. During the first visit, the dentist takes an impression of the cavity or hole in the teeth to be restored, after which a temporary inlay will be placed to protect the area. The impression taken will be used to customize a dental inlay, which will be fitted and cemented permanently on the second visit. Silom Dental Building provides dental inlay placement with prompt turnaround times to cater to the needs of medical tourists visiting Thailand.

Root canal therapy is a dental procedure that can effectively remove infection, while saving the damaged tooth. With this treatment, the diseased or infected pulp tissue in the interior of the tooth is cleaned and hollowed out to prevent or eliminate infection. Removal of the nerve fibers housed in the pulp tissue also removes the bacterial infection and the pain that goes with it. Once the root canals are cleansed and shaped, they are filled with artificial materials to provide structure while preventing pain and recurring infection. This way, the functionality of the tooth is still maintained. Silom Dental offers affordable root canal treatment to medical travelers through state-of-the-art equipment and highly-trained dental surgeons.

Acrylic Denture

 Read more...Read less...

Dentures of this kind are typically cheaper to manufacture and require a less sophisticated design than other varieties, such as partial models made from cobalt chromium or flexible dentures. As a result, they are often recommended and fitted in situations when cost is a concern. Other situations when these dentures typically offer advantages over alternative fixtures include when they are only required temporarily, or are being placed immediately on the day of a tooth’s extraction as a temporary measure. As with any form of denture, acrylic prosthetics also offer several other benefits to wearers. The presence of teeth helps to provide a natural facial appearance and can potentially help to increase people’s self-confidence. Furthermore, the fittings themselves can provide support for the lips and cheeks that can often take on a ‘collapsed’ appearance in patients with missing teeth. The ability to chew food correctly suffers if teeth are lost and can be improved by wearing acrylic dentures. This in turn means that food can be digested more easily as it moves through the body, helping people to take the maximum possible nutritional benefit from the meals they consume. Consequently, dentures can not only boost the health and appearance of the mouth and face, but also of the body as a whole. If teeth are lost, people can often find their ability to speak clearly is impaired, particularly in the case of the anterior teeth – namely the incisors and canines. Those who opt for acrylic dentures should therefore find that their pronunciation improves, with the benefit likely to be especially noticeable when using words that contain fricatives and sibilants. All dentures of this nature are finished in high-impact acrylic, meaning they are able to stand up to the wear and tear that affects teeth on a daily basis. What is the procedure for getting acrylic dentures? Your dentist will first assess your teeth to see if acrylic dentures will be suitable for your case. In the case of small acrylic dentures, it is possible in some cases to do an impression on the same day and make and fit the denture on the same day. In the case of larger acrylic dentures, we will also have to do bite registration and try-in stage and this requires two more visits to the clinic. You will be provided with a treatment plan before the treatment begins outlining how many visits are needed and what would be the cost of your dentures. How do I take care of my acrylic dentures? Acrylic dentures need to be cleaned daily just like teeth need to be cleaned to avoid the build-up of bacteria on their surfaces. You can use your toothbrush and toothpaste or use specially made denture cleaning agents. When cleaning your denture in a sink, ensure that there is some water in the sink before you begin cleaning. This is to ensure that the denture can be cushioned by the water should it fall out of your hand into the sink during cleaning. Ideally plastic dentures should be kept out of the mouth at night in order for the mouth soft tissue not to be covered all the time. However if you do keep your denture in your mouth at night time too, you must make sure that your denture and soft tissues are cleaned very day and ensure that good oral hygiene is maintained.

Routine dental cleaning, also called prophylaxis, is a central part of every oral hygiene. Teeth cleaning involves the removal of bacteria-infested dental plaque and tartar that build up over time, even with careful brushing and flossing. This is performed by a dentist through specialized ultrasonic and hand instruments that can gently yet effectively remove the deposits without harming the structure and health of the teeth. Professional teeth cleaning includes tooth scaling, tooth polishing, and debridement and is recommended once in every six months. Tourists visiting Bangkok can have their routine teeth cleaning even while on vacation, thanks to the superior quality of dental services provided by clinics like Silom Dental Building.

Normal Extraction

Normal extraction, medically known as exodontia, is a simple dental procedure for removing tooth from its socket in the jawbone. Tooth extraction is performed due to a number of reasons: severe damage, wrong position, orthodontic treatment or as a requirement prior to cancer treatment. In simple extraction, the dentist applies local anesthetic or sedation to make the patient more comfortable. Specialized forceps or a device called “elevator” are then used to move the tooth back and forth, slowly loosening it until the root comes off. Normal extraction takes no more than an hour, with bleeding as a common after-effect.

Teeth whitening done by your dentist can get teeth brighter faster. The bleaching solution is usually much stronger than at-home kits. Also, heat, light, or a combination of the two may be used to speed and intensify the whitening process. The most dramatic results -- teeth generally get three to eight shades brighter -- usually take several 30- to 60-minute in-office visits. Some dentists use techniques that can be done in a single 2-hour appointment Tooth Bleaching: Keeping Teeth White Whether you use an at-home tooth-whitening system, or have your teeth bleached by a dentist, you can help maintain the results by flossing and brushing daily. Also, avoid acidic and tannin-rich foods and beverages such as: Black teas and coffee White and red wine Sports drinks Carbonated beverages (dark and light-colored sodas) Berries and other strongly-colored foods Sauces (soy, tomato, curries)

Dental crowns or caps are tooth-shaped, artificial appliances that encase the entire surface of broken and fractured teeth to restore it to its original shape and size. Crowns are excellent treatment solutions that can protect teeth that are heavily damaged for other types of restorations. Crowns are usually made of porcelain, and they closely mimic the natural properties of teeth. A crown procedure usually needs two dental visits. The first will involve thorough cleaning of the damaged tooth, as well as taking an impression for the customized crown. This is followed by fitting of a temporary crown, which will be removed during the second visit as the fabricated permanent crown is cemented in place. Silom Dental offers affordable and fast dental crown restorations to medical travelers visiting Bangkok.

Dental veneers are artificial, tooth-shaped restorative appliances that enhance the shape, color and appearance of existing teeth. Usually made of porcelain or resin composite, a veneer is a wafer-thin shell-like material that is customized to fit over and cover the tooth or a set of teeth. They can conveniently fix discolored, worn down, broken, or misaligned teeth and wide gaps in between. On your first visit, the dentist will take an impression of the teeth, through which the veneer will be patterned and customized. After it is fabricated, the dental veneer is permanently cemented to the teeth on the second visit. At Silom Dental, medical tourists visiting Bangkok can enjoy affordable restorative veneers with fast turn-around times.

Crowns - Porcelain Fused to Semi-Precious Alloy >2%
