<p>Dr. Ng Siew Weng is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon accredited by Singapore’s Ministry of Health. </p> <p>He has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Singapore, Diploma in Practical Dermatology (Wales, UK), and Postgraduate Diploma in Basic Ultrasonography and Occupational Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) and Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS). </p> <p>He was awarded by Singapore’s Ministry of Health the Human Manpower Development Scholarship and became the first plastic surgeon from Singapore General Hospital (SGH) to undergo a one-year intensive training in plastic surgery in South Korea under his scheme. Because of his training, Dr. Ng's surgical techniques have a strong Korean influence, particularly facelift, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and blepharoplasty. </p> <p>Prior to setting up his own practice, Dr. Ng was an adjunct professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, where he trained residents and other doctors. He was also a visiting consultant at SGH, where he organised a grafting workshop to help local surgeons master fat grafting techniques. While working for the hospital’s hand surgery department, Dr. Ng became interested in trigger finger. He subsequently invented and received a patent for a novel device to treat it. </p> <p>Dr. Ng is the recipient of several awards, including Singhealth Best Registrar Award (2009), Singhealth Service Quality Award (2012), SGH Service With A Heart Award (2009), and SGH Service With A Heart Award – Gold Award (2014). </p>
