The ENT Clinic at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital was established by Dr. Jeeve Kanagalingam as a boutique ENT practice serving the ENT needs of the entire family. We pride ourselves in providing exemplary care and service to adults and children. Our specialist, Dr. Jeeve Kanagalingam, is an internationally trained ENT surgeon. He completed his basic and postgraduate medical education in the United Kingdom and has worked and trained in Australia, Singapore and the United States. He brings his rich international experience to the practice which is popular with local and expatriate patients.
The clinic is fitted with the best diagnostic and treatment equipment. These include high definition endoscopes, microscopes, electrosurgical equipment, radiofrequency generators, stroboscopes and ultrasound machines. This allows the clinic to offer a variety of services including allergy testing, ultrasound examinations and guided biopsies, simple nasal and ear surgery.
Dr. Jeeve Kanagalingam is a UK trained ENT surgeon who is deeply committed to providing evidence-based and patient centered care to patients who suffer from various ears, nose, and throat conditions. He is also passionate about providing treatment to children and has pursued specialized training in paediatric ENT. He has advanced sub-specialty training in head and neck surgery and voice disorders. Dr. Jeeve commenced medical studies at the University of Cambridge where he was a College Scholar. He completed clinical medical studies at the University of Oxford and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. He obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000 and received his Diploma of Laryngology and Otology (DLO) in 2003. In 2005, he received his Diploma in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (DOHNS). Dr Jeeve trained in several renown ENT units in London including the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, the Royal Marsden and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. In 2006, he received the Gold Medal for his outstanding performance in the Intercollegiate Fellowship exams in ENT Surgery (FRCS ORL-HNS) from the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr. Jeeve Kanagalingam left the UK in 2007 to pursue further training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. In 2008, he came to Singapore and joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital – a busy public hospital in central Singapore – where he led the head and neck cancer service from 2009-2012. In 2011, he was awarded a Government of Singapore HMDP fellowship to further his training in voice surgery. Currently, he is the Senior Consultant and Medical Director of The ENT Clinic. He is also the Adjunct Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine as well as Visiting Consultant at John Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre and at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is active academically having published 32 papers and 3 book chapters.
Dr. Hobbs spent two years in Australia, completing Advanced Fellowship training in Head & Neck Surgery and Laryngology/Voice at St.Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, and Head & Neck Oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. He won several awards for his fellowship including the Ellison-Cliffe Travelling Fellowship from The Royal Society of Medicine, the Lionel Colledge Memorial Fellowship from The Royal College of Surgeons of England and the HCA International Foundation Travelling Scholarship. As well as having extensive experience in adult ENT surgery, Dr. Hobbs is fully trained in paediatric ENT, having worked at The Royal Hospital for Children in Bristol and Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the UK, and Sunshine Hospital in Australia. Dr. Hobbs' clinical interests include laryngology (swallowing & airway problems, voice disorders and chronic cough), thyroid and parathyroid surgery, head & neck cancer, ENT problems associated with SCUBA diving, and paediatric ENT. Since being in Singapore, he has continued to develop his skills in head and neck surgery by completing advanced training in transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and robotic thyroidectomy in Hong Kong and South Korea. He was subsequently part of the first team to perform TORS at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also a fully accredited and trained in Laser surgery, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Coblation techniques and Sialoendoscopy.
