Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist (TCSS) offers a wide range of cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafts, valvular surgeries, ECMO support, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and chest wall surgeries. The clinic is also recognized in the country for being an expert in hybrid methods for more complex diseases.
The clinic is fully equipped to provide immediate, individualized treatment to patients who are suffering from cardiac conditions and lung cancer as well as from different types of cardiomyopathy, pulmonary embolism, pericardial disease and emergent surgeries caused by trauma.
TCSS specializes in modern and minimally invasive surgeries, which require only micro-incisions, thereby speeding up the recovery process and minimizing the risks of infection and complications. It is one of the very few clinics in Asia that offers on-site robotic surgery for enhanced accuracy and precision.
Leading the clinic is Dr. Su Jang Wen, who received his doctor degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia when he was only 22 years old. He eventually became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, where he is also a Fellow of its Cardiothoracic Surgery Division. He was the gold medalist for the fellowship examination (FRCSCTh). After his training at the National Heart Centre Singapore, he further received in-depth advanced training at Cleveland Clinic, USA, where he was the first Asian candidate to obtain the prestigious position of chief fellow. In the early 2000s, he also received his Master’s degree in Medicine at Singapore’s National University.
Dr. Su is a part of ISMICS (International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery), the recipient of 2012 Gold Service Quality Award, and the foreign consultant for cardiothoracic services in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam and Malaysia.
TCSS operates at #03-11 Gleneagles Hospital located at 6A Napier Road. It is in close proximity to Singapore Botanic Gardens, which is around 2 minutes away by car or 4 minutes by walking through Cluny Road.
