Dr. Abel Soh Wah Ek graduated from the National University of Singapore with an MBBS degree. He completed his postgraduate training at Singapore General Hospital and Joslin Diabetes Centre in Boston, United States. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (Internal Medicine) in the United Kingdom.
Prior to going into private practice, Dr. Soh was an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and a member of the Ministry of Health Mellitus Clinical Practice Guidelines Workgroup. He also served as a core faculty member at SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency and clinical tutor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He also joined Raffle’s Hospital as a consultant endocrinologist until 2016.
Practicing for over 16 years, Dr. Soh has an extensive clinical experience in managing patients with diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, lipid disorders, calcium disorders and osteoporosis, obesity, and adrenal and pituitary diseases. He focuses on providing accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment based on each patient’s unique conditions and circumstances to provide the highest standards of care.
Aside from his commitment to patient health and well-being, Dr. Abel is also passionate about clinical researches that aim to further improve patient outcomes. He has written and published a number of articles in reputable journals and contributed chapters to books about pregnancy and diabetes. He is also a reviewer for Singapore Medical Journal, Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore (AAMS), Expert Review of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and BMJ Case Reports.

Prior to establishing his own practice, he served as a consultant endocrinologist at Raffles Hospital. He also taught at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and served as a clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. With his commitment to excellence and patient care, he was given the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award in 2012 and the Singapore Medical Journal (SMJ) Reviewer Recognition Award in 2011.
