Dr. Aileen A. Seah is a US fellowship-trained consultant general and colorectal surgeon currently practicing at Colorectal Clinic Associates. She is experienced in the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, functional colorectal conditions, and pelvic floor disorders.
She graduated from the National University of Singapore with an MBBS degree in 1995 and obtained her fellowship diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001. She then pursued her advanced surgical training at the National University Hospital and was subsequently admitted as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS).
In 2003, Dr. Seah was awarded the Human Manpower Development Programme scholarship (HMDP) by Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH). This has allowed her to pursue her colorectal surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota and made her the first American-trained female colorectal surgeon in Singapore. In 2005, she was accredited as specialist in general surgery by MOH.
Prior to going into private practice, she served as director of the pelvic floor centre, colorectal surgery division, National University Health System. Dr. Seah also has a Diploma in Acupuncture, which she obtained from Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
