Assoc. Prof. Dr Kalai Arasu Muthusamy is a graduate of the University of Malaya where he completed four years of general surgical training as well as his neurological training. Currently the Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University of Malaya Specialist Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he also received subspecialty training in Functional Neurosurgery and Movement Disorders at Oxford University under world-renowned Professor Tipu Aziz, a medical professional who is highly respected in the field of Functional Neurosurgery and Deep Brain Stimulation. With more than ten years of experience, Dr Muthusamy’s clinical work focuses mainly on deep brain stimulation in treating various movement disorders as well as general neurological problems including brain tumors. Driven to advance his field of expertise, he is also actively involved in performing research and studies on peduncolopontine connectivity in humans and non-human primates and its role in movement disorders. In addition, he has written and published numerous studies in international medical journals.
Dr. Vivek Ajit Singh is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in [Orthopaedic](https://www.docdoc.com/info/specialty/orthopaedic-surgeons) Oncology. He holds an MBBS and MS Ortho degrees from the University of Malaysia. He graduated with the Subramaniam Gold Medal for being the best masters candidate. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and has completed a fellowship training in Orthopaedic Oncology in the United Kingdom. Prior to setting up his own clinic, he served at the Hospital Muar in Johor in 1994 and in 2004, he joined the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. Upon his return to Malaysia in 2006, he lent his expertise to the University of Malaya where he was appointed as the Head of Orthopaedic Oncology unit. He was then posted to Penang General Hospital where he was appointed as Head of Orthopaedic Oncology Department. Dr. Singh is deeply committed to advancing his field of expertise and in discovering new treatment methods that can enhance patient outcome. He has recently wrote a book entitled “Clinical Practice Guidelines for Management of Diabetic Foot” which was published by Malaysia’s Ministry of Health. He also regularly contributes to academic journals such as the International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing, World Journal of Surgical Oncology, and BMJ Case Reports.
