Dr. Chee Chee Pin is a UK-trained neurosurgeon at the ANOC Neuroscience and Orthopaedic Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is also the clinical head of Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s department of neurosurgery and gamma knife centre. He has a keen interest in endoscopic-assisted brain, spine, and pituitary surgeries, spine surgery, radiosurgery, and functional neurosurgery. He pioneered stereotactic radiosurgery in Malaysia in 1996 and treatment of Parkinson’s disease using deep brain stimulation in 2003.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in Malaysia in 1979 and training in neurosurgery in Glasgow and Belfast (1983-1986). He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of the United Kingdom (MRCS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (USA), and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow (FRCS).
Besides his clinical practice, Dr. Chee is also an avid researcher. He has published in regional and international journals, including the Journal of Paediatric Surgery, Journal of Neurosurgery, Surgical Neurology, and the Asian Journal of Surgery.
