Dr. Chen Chung Ming is a senior consultant general and colorectal surgeon with more than 20 years of practice experience. His services include gastroscopy, colonoscopy, open and laparoscopic surgery, hernia repair, and surgery for lumps and bumps.
He completed his MBBS at the University of New Castle in Australia in 1994, training in general surgery at Changi General Hospital in 2001, and subspecialty training in advanced colorectal surgery in Sydney, Australia in 2007. He was trained by two world-renowned colorectal surgeons, Professors Graham Newstead and David Lubowski. Dr. Chen is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS, 1999) and Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS, 2005). He is also a member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons of Singapore.
Dr. Chen is the medical director of Affinity Surgery Centre conveniently located at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre and Mount Alvernia Hospital. He is a former consultant surgeon and director of the colorectal service and endoscopy centre at Changi General Hospital. He was also a senior clinical lecturer at the National University of Singapore’s faculty of medicine as well as a committee member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons (Singapore) and Code Blue Committee, Mount Alvernia Hospital.
Affinity Surgery Centre at Mount Alvernia Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre specialises in ambulatory, abdominal, minimally invasive (keyhole), cancer, and thyroid surgery. It also offers gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and cancer screening. The clinic is helmed by Dr. Chen Chung Ming, a general surgeon with over 20 years of specialist practice experience. He is the former director of Changi General Hospital’s colorectal service and endoscopy centre. Dr. Chen completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle in Australia and surgical training in Singapore. He was subsequently conferred Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) in 1999 and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) in 2005.
