Dr. Denis Cheong is a general surgeon with over 20 years of specialist practice experience. He provides specialised care to patients with fistula and fissure, haemorrhoids, colon and rectal cancers, gallbladder disorders, diverticular disease, and hernia.
He completed his MBBS at the National University of Singapore. Following the completion of his postgraduate qualifications, he was conferred Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He then received three scholarships from Singapore’s Ministry of Health allowing him to pursue his training in colorectal surgery (Cleveland Clinic Florida), advanced colorectal surgery (St. Mark’s Hospital in London, the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and the University of Upsalla in Sweden), and advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery (Australasian Endosurgery Centre in Brisbane).
Prior to joining the PanAsia Surgery Group, Dr. Cheong served at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as head of its colorectal service. He is also the former director of the Digestive Disease Centre and was a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the National Cancer Centre, and John Hopkins International Medical Centre (Singapore).
