Dr. A. Simon Hercules holds an MBBS degree, Masters in General Surgery, MCh in Neurosurgery, and a Ph.D. in Spine Surgery from some of the most reputable medical schools in India. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (United Kingdom) and holds an MBA in Hospital Management.
Practicing for over 17 years, he is highly experienced in deep brain stimulation, endoscopic neurosurgery, baclofen pump for spasticity, brain tumour surgery, ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery, aneurysm clipping, cervical and lumbar discectomy with fusion, total hip and knee replacement, arthroscopy, Whipple's procedure, nephrectomy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), radical mastectomy, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), laparoscopic surgery for the removal of ovarian cysts, laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic appendectomy, transurethral resection of the prostate, head and neck oncology surgery, and scoliosis correction.
Dr. Hercules is passionate about humanitarian causes. He founded the Anthony Foundation in collaboration with New Hope Hospital Brain and Spine Centre. It provides vision, inspiration, resources, and specialised services to help the youth, homeless, prisoners, the elderly, and disabled improve the quality of their lives and become productive members of the society.
Dr. Hercules is a former assistant professor of neurosurgery at Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai. He had clinical attachments with Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Hope Hospital in Salford, and New Castle General Hospital Department of Neurosurgery in the United Kingdom.
