Dr. Bong Jan Ling is a consultant dermatologist at Sunway Medical Centre in Malaysia. She specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of common skin diseases, skin lesions, and skin cancers, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, pigmentation problem, hair disorders, hives, skin itching, moles and cancerous lesions, melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, birth marks, and vascular malformation in children.
Her main services are allergy skin test, Botox injection, corn and callus removal, laser hair removal, skin biopsy, skin excision, skin incision and drainage, skin lesion cryotherapy, skin scraping, triamcinolone injection for scar reduction, and consultation.
She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Dundee in 1993 and training in internal medicine at Ninewells and New Stobhill Hospitals in the United Kingdom. She did her rotations in various medical specialties, including general medicine, respiratory medicine, infectious disease, cardiology, nephrology, geriatrics, gastroenterology, and rheumatology.
Dr. Ling then pursued her specialty training in dermatology at Queen’s Medical Centre in the United Kingdom and completed her Master of Medicine in Clinical Education at the University of Nottingham in 2005. She obtained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) in 1997 and was conferred Fellow (FRCP) in 2009.
Besides her clinical practice, Dr. Ling is also an avid researcher. She has published her work in various peer-reviewed journals, including Clinical & Experimental Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and British Journal of Dermatology.
