Dr. David Chan is a senior consultant eye surgeon at Atlas Eye Specialist Centre in Singapore. His areas of specialty lie in anterior segment surgery, complex cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. His main services include lens replacement or exchange, high-risk cataract surgery, lens capsular bag support, laser vision correction, collagen cross-linking, implantable contact lens, iris repair, and refractive lens exchange.
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Leicester in 1995 and Master of Medicine at the National University of Singapore in 2004. He completed his training in general surgery at the University Hospital of Leicester, training in ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre, and surgical training fellowship in anterior segment surgery and refractive surgery at the University of Calgary (Canada).
Dr. Chan is registered with the Singapore Medical Council and General Medical Council of the United Kingdom. He is accredited by Singapore’s Ministry of Health as an ophthalmology specialist. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Asia Pacific Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
He obtained his membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS) in 2004 and was conferred Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) in 2010.
