Dr. Derek Yong is a consultant general and interventional cardiologist with over 10 years of practice experience. His areas of specialty include CT cardiac and CT coronary angiography.
Following the completion of his MBBS degree at the University of Adelaide in 2003, Dr. Yong pursued his advanced cardiology specialist training as well as his subspecialty training in invasive and interventional cardiology at Westmead Hospital, Heart Scan Institute, and the Australian Institute of Cardiovascular CT in Sydney, Australia. He then furthered his subspecialty training in interventional cardiology at the National Heart Centre, Singapore.
Dr. Yong is the medical director of Restore Heart Centre at Mount Alvernia Hospital Medical Centre. He also serves as a visiting general and interventional cardiologist consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Jurong Community Hospital, and the National University Heart Centre, Singapore.
Dr. Yong is also serving as a clinical lecturer as well as a physician core faculty member (cardiology senior residency program) at the National University Hospital, Singapore. He is also a member of Mt. Alvernia Hospital’s medical advisory board and chairman of its code blue committee.
