Dr. Hong Sze Ching is a consultant obstetrics and gynecology specialist with more than 10 years of clinical practice experience. She operates SOG -SC Hong Clinic for Women at Mount Alvernia Medical Centre. She also practices at SATA Commhealth Woodlands Medical Centre and Farrer Park Hospital and serves as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at KKH Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit. She has special interests in the management of endometriosis, advanced laparoscopic surgery, obstetric care, and management of general gynaecological conditions.
She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in 2005 and Master of Medicine in 2011 at the National University of Singapore. She completed her training in general surgery at the National University Hospital and training in obstetrics and gynaecology at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She also completed her training in the management of endometriosis and advanced laparoscopic surgery at The Ottawa Hospital’s Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit (Canada) courtesy of her scholarship from Singapore’s Ministry of Health.
She subsequently obtained her specialist accreditation and membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of the United Kingdom (MRCOG). Dr. Hong is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) and member of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Singapore and Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore.
Besides her clinical practice, Dr. Hong also serves as an adjunct instructor for the Duke-NUS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Academic Clinical Programme and at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She has published in various peer-reviewed journals, presented at local surgical workshops and congresses, and written a number of book chapters.
