Associate Professor Dato’ Dr. Nik Ritza Kosai Bin Nik Mahmood is a consultant surgeon and head of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Medical Centre’s department of gastrointestinal, bariatric, and metabolic surgery.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Manchester in 1995 and membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2001. He was a consultant honorary fellow in minimally invasive surgery and upper GI surgery at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Trust in England.
He is the president of the Malaysian Obesity and Metabolic Surgical Society and vice president of the Malaysian Upper GI Surgical Society.
He has published in various medical journals, newspapers, and magazines. He is often invited to speak, facilitate, and conduct training at local and regional meetings and medical conferences.
Dr. Kosai is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS).
