Dr. Patricia Alison Gomez is a breast and endocrine surgeon. She is the clinical director of Pantai Hospital’s breast cancer centre. She was previously in-charge of Klinik Payudara Breast Clinic at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s national referral centre from 1995 to 2005. Her practice is dedicated to the prevention, early detection, surgical treatment, and management of breast cancer. She is actively involved in advocacy efforts to provide guidance and support to breast cancer survivors.
She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from India and Masters in General Surgery from Malaysia. She completed her subspecialty clinical fellowship in breast and endocrine surgery at Hammersmith NHS Trust Imperial College in London, United Kingdom.
Dr. Gomez is part of the team that prepared the Ministry of Health’s guidelines for clinical practice in breast cancer treatment. She has presented papers on the issue at many local and international meetings. She is a member of the College of Surgeons of Malaysia, the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, Malaysian Oncological Society, Australasian Society of Breast Diseases, and the European Society for Medical Oncology.
