Dr. Syama Prasad A/L K.C.A. Menon is a consultant nephrologist at Subang Jaya Medical Centre in Malaysia. He has more than 40 years of clinical experience.
He graduated from Banaras Hindu University (India) in 1977 with his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). He obtained his membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) in 1982 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP) in 1997.
He is a former consultant nephrologist at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (1988-1991), senior registrar and research fellow at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Australia, and was attached to Whittington Hospital in London.
He is a member of the Malaysia Society of Nephrology, International Society of Nephrology, National Kidney Foundation, European Dialysis and Transplant Association, Malaysian Society of Transplantation, and the Asia Pacific Society of Nephrology.
He is the former president (1996-1998) and vice president (1994-1996) of the Malaysian Society of Nephrology. He was also the secretary of the National Kidney Foundation Malaysia (1989-1991).
