The Asian American Liver Centre (AALC), which is led by renowned hepatobiliary and liver surgeon, Dr. Tan Kai Chah, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Asian American Medical Group (AAMG). AALC, which was established in Singapore in 1994, was formerly known as the Asian Centre for Liver Diseases and Transplantation. AAMG has been listed on the Australian Securities Exchange since September 2009. In October 2012, it announced its strategic collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (UPMC) in the USA. This collaboration allows both parties to enhance their capabilities through rigorous quality standards and shared protocols. It has also created a platform for AAMG to expand across Asia through more collaboration with healthcare partners in the region. AALC offers both outpatient and inpatient facilities, as well as services for international patients to provide comprehensive and seamless patient care. The multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, led by Dr. Tan Kai Chah, takes care of all aspects to provide optimal care for AALC’s patients. AALC is one of the largest private liver centres in Southeast Asia and is now directly linked to one of the world’s most recognised transplantation programmes through UPMC. Given its vast experience and a highly successful Living Donor Liver Transplantation (LDLT) programme, AALC has remained an important referral centre for the treatment of acute liver failure and liver transplants.
