Dr. Yeo Chong Meng is a fellowship-trained consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist currently practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre. He specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of liver, pancreatic, gastrointestinal, and general medical diseases with services that include diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, video capsule endoscopy, percutaneous liver biopsy, and endoscopic gastrostomy.
He completed his basic medical degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Following the completion of his postgraduate qualifications, he obtained membership to the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP). He was subsequently conferred Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) in 2008 and Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP) in 2012.
Prior to going into private practice in 2013, he served at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as associate consultant gastroenterologist (2008-2010) and consultant gastroenterologist (2010-2013). He was also a visiting consultant to Alexandra Hospital (2009-2010) and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (2010-2011) as well as senior clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and clinical tutor for the MRCP PACES examination.
Dr. Yeo actively participates in national campaigns to raise public awareness on gastrointestinal disorders and liver diseases. He believes that in order to deliver the best possible treatment outcomes, doctors should not only have the needed skills and access to cutting-edge medical technologies but must also strive to provide personalised and holistic care to their patients.
