Dr. Yunus Gul bin Alif is a consultant general, laparoscopic, and gastrointestinal surgeon at Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is currently the president of the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, ASEAN Society of Colorectal Surgeons, and Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1990 and certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) in 1999. Following the completion of his postgraduate qualifications, he was conferred Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of the United Kingdom and Ireland (FRCS).
He is a former consultant general and gastrointestinal surgeon and head of the department of surgery at University Putra Malaysia. He is a reviewer for the Medical Journal of Malaysia, Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences, Indian Journal of Surgery, World Journal of Surgical Oncology, and Surgical Practice.
He has co-authored book chapters on abdominal trauma, development and assessment of medical technology, and hiatus hernia and reflex disease. He has also published in both local and international journals and presented at local and international medical meetings and conferences.
