Dr. Germaine Xu is a breast oncoplastic and general surgeon at FemSurgery, a surgical group practice conveniently located at major hospitals in Singapore, namely Mount Alvernia Medical Centre, Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre, and Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
Her areas of expertise lie in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of breast diseases and conditions, including but not limited to breast cancers, nipple discharge, breast infection, and premalignant breast diseases. As a general surgeon, she also performs open and laparoscopic surgical procedures, such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, and emergency endoscopic procedures.
She completed her MBBS degree at the National University of Singapore in 2003 and her Master’s of Medicine in General Surgery in 2007. With a special interest in breast surgery, she pursued her oncoplastic breast surgery fellowship at the prestigious Nottingham Breast Unit. She also spent time at the Edinburgh Breast Unit, the European Institute of Oncology, and the Paris Breast Centre. Prior to going into private practice, she served as breast oncoplastic and general surgical consultant at Khoo Tech Puat Hospital.
Dr. Xu is a member of Mensa International and Breast Cancer Foundation. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
