Dr. Jim Teo Yeow Kwan is an accredited internal medicine, respiratory medicine, and intensive care specialist with over 20 years of practice experience. His special interests lie in non-invasive ventilation and treatment and management of patients with asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD).
He graduated from the National University of Singapore with an MBBS degree in 1997 and Master’s in Internal Medicine in 2003, the same year he obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) of the United Kingdom. He then pursued his training in pulmonary disease at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and subspecialty training in critical care at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (Australia) and TTSH.
Dr. Jim was conferred Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) in 2009 and the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) of Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2010.
Prior to joining The Respiratory Practice, he was a consultant at TTSH’s department of respiratory and intensive care medicine. He was given the TTSH Excellent Service Award in 2006 and TTSH 10 Year Long Service Award in 2009.
Aside from his clinical practice, Dr. Jim is also actively involved in teaching basic cardiac life support, advanced cardiac life support, and fundamental critical care support courses. He is also serving as a clinical teacher at the National University of Singapore.
