Prior to going into private practice, Dr. Thomas served at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as head of the neurosurgery department and at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) as lead consultant in radiosurgery and functional neurosurgery. He also served as lead consultant for the functional neurosurgery service at both NNI and SGH.

Dr. Thomas is the founding director of Singhealth’s surgical sub-specialty residency programme. He has been involved in teaching medical students as an adjunct associate professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Royal College of Surgeons of the United Kingdom (Neurosurgery), and Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS).
