Dr. Lee Yeow Hian is a fellowship-trained consultant chest, sleep, and intensive care medicine specialist with over 20 years of practice experience. He specialises in the treatment and management of patients with sleep disorders and chronic respiratory failure using both invasive and non-invasive ventilation therapies in hospital or home setting. He is a former consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s respiratory and critical care medicine department.
He graduated from Queen’s University of Belfast in 1997 with his basic medical degree. Following the completion of his basic medical training and after obtaining his membership to the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) of the United Kingdom, he joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Alexandra Hospital for his specialist training in respiratory and critical care medicine.
Dr. Lee was subsequently awarded the Health Manpower Development Program (HMDP) scholarship by Singapore’s Ministry of Health, allowing him to pursue his fellowship training in sleep medicine in Australia. In 2007, he obtained his Masters in Sleep Medicine at the University of Sydney and had the opportunity to work with Professor Colin Sullivan, the inventor of continuous airway pressure therapy (CPAP). Upon his return to Singapore, he was appointed a core faculty member of Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s simulation and integrated medical training advancement centre. He is now in private practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre where he provides comprehensive and expert care for patients with respiratory and sleep disorders, including sleep apnoea and insomnia.
