Dr. Lim Hwee Yong is a medical oncologist currently practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena and Mount Alvernia Hospitals. He is the former president of the Singapore Society of Oncology and is a founding member of the Singapore Hepatopancreatobiliary Association.
He completed his medical degree at the University College Dublin in Ireland, postgraduate training in internal medicine at the University of Hawaii, and training in haematology and medical oncology at Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah in the United States.
Prior to going into private practice, he served at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) where he led a number of research on lung, breast, gastrointestinal, and hepato-biliary cancers and neuroendocrine tumours. He also served as a visiting consultant at Changi General Hospital.
He is a member of the American Society of Haematology, American Society of Clinical Oncologists, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, European Society of Medical Oncologists, Singapore Medical Association, and the European Neuroendocrine Tumours Society.
Aside from his clinical practice, Dr. Lim also teaches at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS University of Singapore.
