Dr. Mark Wong Te Ching is a senior consultant general surgeon with over 15 years of practice experience. He is well versed in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, advanced therapeutic endoscopy, and surgical treatment of functional bowel disorders.

He completed his MBBS at the National University of Singapore in 1999 and fellowship diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004. Following the completion of his advanced surgical training at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), he was awarded two scholarships by Singapore’s Ministry of Health to pursue his fellowship training in minimally invasive colorectal surgery at the University Hospital of Nantes (France) and training in pelvic floor and functional colorectal disorders at the University Hospital of Aarhus (Denmark).

Prior to moving into private practice, he served as visiting consultant to the National Cancer Centre of Singapore’s surgical oncology division and senior consultant at SGH’s colorectal surgery department. He was also the director of SGH’s pelvic floor disorder service and gastrointestinal function unit.

Dr. Mark Wong Te Ching is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) and Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS). He is also a member of the European Society of Coloproctology, Society of Colorectal Surgeons of Singapore, Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Society of Asia, and Singapore Continence Society.

He is often invited to lecture at local, regional, and international colorectal conferences. He has mentored many colorectal surgeons from all across Southeast Asia and is an expert reviewer for many international colorectal journals.

Aside from his private practice, he also serves as adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and visiting consultant to KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
